This is one of the most common concerns people have before starting.
You might be thinking:
“I should be able to handle this myself”
“Others have it worse than me”
“I don’t know if this will actually help”
The truth is, many people come to counselling feeling unsure at the start.
You don’t need certainty. You just need to take the first step and see if it feels right for you.
We offer a limited number of reduced-fee counselling sessions to make support more accessible.
Sessions are provided in the same safe, professional setting as all counselling at Celbridge Wellness.
50-minute sessions
Usually held weekly (but can be spaced to help further with cost)
Calm, private environment
Affordable sessions are available to anyone, subject to availability.
Mid Cost Counselling (Qualified Therapists): €60 per session
Low Cost Counselling (Trainee Therapists): €30 per session (limited availability)
If cost is a concern, feel free to get in touch and we can talk through what option might suit you best.
People come for many different reasons. You don’t need a “serious” problem to benefit from support.
Anxiety and overthinking
Stress and burnout
Relationship difficulties
Low mood
Feeling stuck or overwhelmed
Loss of confidence
If you're unsure about starting, see our guide: Do I Need Therapy?
Counselling gives you a space to talk openly in a calm, confidential setting.
You won’t be judged or rushed. Instead, we work at your pace to understand what’s going on and find a way forward.
Over time, this can help you:
Make sense of your thoughts and feelings
Break unhelpful patterns
Feel more steady and in control
Is affordable counselling lower quality?
No—but there are different levels of experience.
Our standard fee counselling (€60) is provided by fully qualified therapists working towards accreditation.
Our low cost counselling (€30) is provided by trainee therapists who are in advanced stages of their training.
All counsellors are supported through professional supervision and work within a safe, structured framework.
How many sessions will I need?
This varies from person to person. Some people come for a short period, others for longer-term support. We can review this together as we go.
Do I need to be in crisis to come to counselling?
No. Many people come simply because something doesn’t feel right, or they want support working through a difficult period.
What if I’m not sure counselling is right for me?
That’s completely normal. Many people feel unsure at the beginning. You can get in touch first and ask any questions before deciding.
If you’ve been putting this off because of cost or uncertainty, you’re not alone.
You can take the first step by getting in touch. There’s no pressure, just a chance to see if this feels right for you.
You can start with a simple question and take it from there.
